To stick plotted stickers, all you need is a microfiber cloth to thoroughly clean the surface, alcohol-based liquid or benzine to degrease the surface on which the sticker will be applied, scissors if the stickers require adjustment, adhesive tape to mark reference points or temporarily place the sticker if the sticker is large, and a squeegee that will facilitate even pressing of the stickers, ensuring a perfect effect.
1. Surface preparation
Make sure that the surface you intend to stick the stickers on is clean, dry and smooth. Clean it from dust, dirt or grease stains using gasoline or alcohol-based fluid (e.g. isopropanol). This will help remove the grease and ensure that the stickers adhere better.
2. Preparing the sticker
Allow the sticker to rest under the weight for several hours or overnight. This will allow it to gradually regain its flat shape. After this time, check whether the sticker is straight. If it is still bent, you can repeat this process or gently smooth it out with your hand or squeegee. Air bubbles under the transport foil are natural. Before sticking, they should be removed by pushing the air from the center to the outer edge of the sticker.
3. Sticker location
Before sticking the sticker, it is important to place it precisely on the target surface. Start by choosing the right place that will emphasize the aesthetics of the decoration or meet its functional requirements. If you want to maintain evenness and precision in the placement of the sticker, use adhesive tape to mark the exact place where it should be stuck.
4. Setting a reference point
The tape in the center serves as a reference point, making it easier to position the sticker. After peeling off the backing, you can stick the sticker precisely, maintaining evenness and control over its positioning on the target surface. This ensures that the sticker will be well centered and evenly applied.
5. Start sticking the sticker
Gently peel off part of the sticker from the backing, making sure that all sticker elements remain on the transfer foil and its surface is not bent. Then cut off some of the backing paper.
6. Gluing in the target place
Gently apply the previously removed part of the sticker to the surface, checking whether it spreads evenly and does not bend.
7. Pressing the evenly placed sticker
When the transfer foil sticker fits perfectly to the surface, press it using a squeegee or a credit card, smoothing its surface and pushing out any air bubbles.
8. Sticking the rest of the sticker
Once our sticker is pressed to the surface, we peel off the tape that was located in the center as a reference point. At this point, the sticker became our focal point. We peel off the remaining part of the backing from the sticker and start smoothing and pressing to the left. It is worth doing it with 2 people if the sticker is large.
9. Final touches
At this stage, we press and remove any imperfections from our sticker, such as bubbles or irregularities.
10. Peeling off the transfer foil
When our sticker permanently adheres to the surface, gently and very slowly remove the transfer foil. It is best to do this at an angle of 180 degrees.
